The residential project in Marina Bizerte is of a quality never before seen in Tunisia. The specifications for the building have been developed with the objective of achieving a standard far beyond the normal apartment building developments built today. The construction company undertaking the work is the Franco Belgian company CFE Vinci, whose technical departments have worked on all the plans before construction started.

The waterfront restaurants and bars will be of a standard that is completely different to those found in Hammamet. Connoisseurs acknowledge the famous Sport Nautique restaurant as one of the best fish restaurants in the world!

Marina Bizerte is taking advantage of the absence of low-cost tourism facilities to open for business with a completely different strategy. This is reinforced by the recent announcement that Concorde Hotels are building a new five star hotel in Bizerte, featuring a high-end spa facility.

The North coast of Tunisia is quite a surprise for most people.

Adjacent to the marina on both sides are long sandy beaches. The water is clean and clear, and SCUBA diving is popular as the underwater life is particularly vibrant due to the rich currents that are passing the northern cap of the African continent.

To the West of Bizerte is an unspoilt coastline consisting of caps and bays with picturesque green landscape behind it, stretching 65 NM to Tabarka. There are large forested areas and lakes. Just a few miles from Marina Bizerte there is a stunning bay wiyh, which is popular with the locals for swimming.

To the East of Bizerte there are similar unspoilt stretches of coastline, and after 40 nautical miles cruising you come to the bay of Gammarth, where a new marina is also under construction. Adjacent to this are the bays of La Marsa and Sidi BouSaid, which also has an attractive marina. The coast continues with the historic town of Carthage, home to the national museum and fabulous Roman archaeological sites. Then the town of La Goulette has a vibrant atmosphere, which is popular for locals to promenade in the streets during the warm evenings.

There are local islands 12 nautical miles from Bizerte. The Galite islands are to be found 50 miles away.

110 miles away is the southern tip of Sicily, and 120 miles away is the west coast of Sicily.

The developers understand that Captains and crew need to feel comfortable and at home, and they are used to the quality of life available in the South of France, Italy or Mallorca. The Marina Bizerte development offers everything that the crew could possibly need or want, at prices around half those found in Europe. For other watersports they will have the choice of going off the beach adjacent to the port or into the 65 sq km Lac de Bizerte. The warmer climate means that the season for these activities is longer.

If the crew wish to take an apartment on shore, they will be able to rent or buy in the new residential building adjacent to the port. This building is specified to such high standards that it is without doubt the finest quality residential building in Tunisia, with build quality assured by virtue of the fact that the construction company is CFE Vinci (the Franco-Belgian construction company). The residence has a pool, gym, juice-bar and childcare centre. Life is enhanced by the ability to employ a full time housekeeper for around EUR 250 per month, so families can get on with enjoying more leisure time.

Shopping opportunities available will be of a high standard in the retail shops developed within the port development, some of which will have duty-free status. The local markets provide outstanding quality fresh produce, with vegetables that taste fantastic and wonderful fresh fish. There is a large mall with many European shopping brands, and a Geant supermarket, 30 minutes drive away.

Marina Bizerte is in the centre of one of the world’s finest heritage sites, with easy walking distance to the 3,000 year old fishing port surrounded by Cafes and with a charm to rival any other marina in the world. Of equal importance is that the Tunisian people are very friendly.

Yachts will be able to take advantage of the outstanding facilities for maintenance and refit work located in Bizerte.

The Marina Bizerte development includes the creation of a new shipyard, set apart from the marina located the other side of the channel. This marina will be managed by an internationally recognised name in yacht refit and repair. Yacht owners will be able to maintain their records of service with the stamp of a recognised and respected company, while benefiting from cost savings that we estimate to be around 50% compared to Europe.

Larger yachts will be able to use the facilities in Menzel Bourgiba, inside the Lac de Bizerte. The shipyard here can offer dry dock to vessels of up to 249m. There are skilled employees who can cater to the exacting demands of superyachts. The principal company operating in Menzel Bourgiba is French owned.

It is important to note that companies such as Wally, Cantiere di Pisa and Baglietto have chosen Bizerte as the location for much of their manufacturing processes. The shipyard that is manufacturing these yachts, called W Magic. This yard specialises in advanced carbonfibre and composite work, and has skilled labour under Italian management. W Magic will be in competition with the new facility being built within the marina development, so the yachts will have a choice.

There is a large chandlery and paint supply shop in the marina development.

Excellent facilities are available for family needs, including schools, a hospital, dental care facilities etc.

There will be a concierge office and meeting room facilities with ‘executive washrooms’ open to crew and owners. This will be similar to the excellent facility in Marina Genova Aeroporto (note that the construction company is the same for the two marinas).
