The marina is located in the downtown area of Bizerte, which is one of Tunisia’s largest towns. It is within easy walking distance to shops.

An old town setting with all the same charm as you find in Antibes.
The markets offer outstanding fish and fresh-produce at ultra low prices.

There are excellent local beaches and unspoilt coast to explore.
Taxis are extremely cheap.
Flights from Tunis can take crew to and from most European cities with inexpensive prices:
SAVE MONEY Here are the ways a yacht owner can save money:
CASE STUDY ONE :
35m semi displacement yacht.
The owner of a 35m yacht can choose to buy a berth for about EUR 2 million in Antibes.
In five or six years time we can imagine that the value could have dropped considerably as the lease expires in December 2021.
Alternatively he could buy a 35m berth in Bizerte for EUR 380,000.
In five or six years time we can imagine that the value will have gone up, according to the trend seen in other new marinas.
A semi-displacement yacht will normally burn around 350 litres of fuel per hour. If we imagine a normal season cruising the yacht may cruise for an average of four hours per day for ten weeks. 350 litres x 280 hours = 98,000 litres. If the yacht refuelled in Europe this would cost around EUR 117,000. If the yacht refuelled in Tunisia this would cost around EUR 49,000.
In Europe the workers in a shipyard may be paid around EUR 12 per hour, and their employers will have to pay heavy taxes and social charges, so shipyards in France and Italy will normally charge for labour costs at around EUR 50 per hour. In Bizerte a skilled labourer will be paid EUR 2 per hour, and the shipyard may invoice EUR 10 per hour.
The cost of provisions in Tunisia will be at least half of the cost in France or Italy. Tunisia has large French supermarket chains like Carrefour and Geant, so the products that the crew are used to are available.
VAT can also be saved, for yachts that are not commercially registered. The owner can defer VAT over 20 years, and only pay pro-rata for the time the yacht is in European waters. If the yacht cost EUR 10 million, he could avoid paying (for example) 15% European VAT on purchasing the yacht. Instead he would pay 0.75% VAT per year if the yacht was in Europe all the time, but if it was only in Europe for three months per year he would pay 0.1875% per year. This means that owners who don’t really want to charter benefit hugely.
QUALITY SERVICE AND AMENITIES: The references for the developers are impressive.
One of the key Tunisian developers is responsible for the Residence Hotel in Gammarth, one of the Leading Hotels of the World. The hotel also includes an outstanding spa and golf course. The staff in the hotel are exceptionally well trained to provide service of the highest standard.
The team of developers includes a 25% share belonging to the Belgian company CFE Vinci:
Revenue: € 1,728 millions
Operating income: € 112 millions
Workforce: 5,483 employees
Projects completed in 2008: 1,343
The construction work is being overseen by a technical team from CFE Vinci, and the apartment building (just over 200 apartments) is being built by CFE Vinci.
The general standard of service and amenities in Tunisia varies enormously. Many people will have experiences with visiting Djerba or Hammamet, and it must be stressed that Marina Bizerte will be nothing like these places.

249m dry dock available.
